To make this centerpiece, all you need to do is paint the peg and the jar, add the filling and the coins, then complete with the hat decoration and a garland of coins! You can also use it on your tiered tray or on a decorative piece to add a festive touch to your home decor.
This St. Patrick’s Day centerpiece is easily customizable. You can use a shamrock decoration in place of the hat. Fill it with candy instead of coins to make a treats container. Use something different in place of the ribbon like a shamrock sticker or a “lucky” stencil on the pot. There are many ways to personalize this St. Patrick’s Day craft.
St Patrick’s Day Centerpiece at Dollar Tree

hot glue gun
- 1 oz black paint
- 1 small terracotta pot
- 1 St. Patrick’s Day Sign (with the hat)
- 1 stud
- 1 bag gold coins
- 1 clover garland
- 1 gold mesh ribbon
- filling – can be newspaper, paper towels, etc.
Paint the clay pot and peg black and let dry.
Put hot glue on the bottom of the dowel and insert it into the hole at the bottom of the clay pot. Hold it in place until it dries (about 1 minute).
Add filling to the bottom of the jar.
Place the gold coins on top of the infill, making sure none of the infill items appear.
Cut the ribbons for your St. Patrick’s Day sign so that you just have the hat.
Glue the hat to the top of the dowel using copius amounts of glue. Hold it in place until it dries (about 1 minute)
Cut an appropriately sized piece of the shamrock garland and wrap it around the ankle.
Wrap the mesh tape around the back of the clay pot to measure the amount you need. Then cut the piece and glue it to the bottom of the pot.
