This Instant Pot Philly Cheesesteak is an easy dinner idea for busy weeknights. It’s a quick and easy meal that takes less than 30 minutes to prepare. The whole family will love this delicious sandwich made with tangy and tender beef, green peppers and onions. It is topped with melted provolone cheese and placed in a hoagie roll coated with garlic butter.
This is an instant pot recipe. All you have to do other than put the cheesesteak mixture in the instant pot is toast the roll and melt the cheese. This sandwich is the ultimate comfort food and is sure to become a family favorite on regular rotations. It also makes a great match day dish.
For this recipe, I used a pre-shaved steak (Old Neighborhood brand) which can be found in the meat section (not in the freezer section) at ALDI, Walmart or Target. It comes out extremely tender in the instant pan and requires less cooking time as it is shaved very fine so I very recommend it for this recipe. Just make sure you break it up well so that there aren’t any large pieces of meat. This is to make sure it cooks evenly.
If you’re slicing your own steak, put it in the freezer for 30 minutes before slicing. Then sear the steak for 5 minutes before cooking it or add a few more minutes to the cooking time as it will be thicker and therefore take longer to cook.
