Show your patriotism with these DIY Dollar Store July 4th Decoration Ideas. These DIY projects are cheap and easy to make, so they are perfect for last minute decorations on July 4 such as table centerpieces for parties and barbecues or craft projects for children (with supervision of an adult because these projects use glue guns).

All these Dollar Store July 4 Decor Ideas cost less than $ 10 to make and most of them are less than $ 5. The costs of these projects do not include the basic craft supplies I already have such as a glue gun, glue sticks, scissors, paintbrush, tape, etc. Only the costs of materials purchased from Dollar Tree.

These July 4th Dollar Store decorating ideas take less than 15 minutes to make and don’t require a lot of difficulty to make them, making them perfect for novice artisans or those looking for easy DIY ideas without a lot of effort.

Patriotic candle in clothespin

Provisions:

  • votive candle in a glass jar (make sure the height of the candle matches the height of the clothespins)
  • clothespins
  • red and blue acrylic paint
  • brush
  • narrow red or blue ribbon
  • foam star stickers
  • glue gun
  • the scissors

Total cost: $ 5

Time: Less than 15 minutes (not counting the drying time)

Difficulty level: Easy

Instructions:

  1. Paint an equal number of clothespins in red and blue. I used about 10 of each, but it will depend on the size of your candle.
  2. Let the paint dry. Mine took about 20 minutes to dry completely.
  3. Glue the back of each clothespin to the candle, alternating colors.
  4. Cut an appropriate length of ribbon to go around the candle.
  5. Wrap the ribbon around the metal part of the clothespins to hide it and stick it in place.
  6. Add star foam stickers around the center of the candle.

Point: If you use this centerpiece outside and you have candle making accessories, you can make your own lemongrass candle and put it in a votive glass candle holder to repel mosquitoes.

Centerpiece of the enlightened Mason jar from July 4

Provisions:

  • empty big jar with label removed using goo gone
  • Red sand
  • patriotic flowers
  • LED star lights
  • two AA batteries
  • ribbon
  • small screwdriver
  • scattering of foam stars
  • other optional embellishments (ribbon, bow, string, aluminum star garland, etc.)

Total cost: $ 5

Time: Less than 3 minutes

Difficulty level: Easy

Instructions:

  1. Unscrew the screw on the back of the battery compartment of the star LED lights.
  2. Put the batteries in it.
  3. Tape along the corners of the battery (so that there is no sand).
  4. Turn it on and place the battery on the bottom of the pot.
  5. Cover with red sand until it is not visible.
  6. Superimpose the LED stars and the dispersion of the foam stars.
  7. Add patriotic flowers.
  8. Optional – you can add red string or a narrow ribbon around the mouth or the neck of the pot if you want an additional embellishment.

This project takes place very quickly, but you should use it immediately if you use the dollar star lights, unless you plan to hide the battery pack in some other way, which depends on where you plan to place the centerpiece. You can also use LED lights with timers or remote controls, but they don’t sell them at Dollar Tree.

Patriotic lantern

Provisions:

  • 4 white photo frames (I used 4 × 6, but you can use any size)
  • glue gun
  • craft cutters / knife
  • white foam board
  • patriotic flowers
  • scattering of foam stars
  • Red sand
  • optional patriotic embellishments – cardboard flag, ribbons, aluminum star garland, LED star lights

Total cost: $ 8

Time: Less than 10 minutes

Difficulty level: Easy

Instructions:

  1. Remove the plastic wrap, insert and support the frames. Clean the glass, if necessary.
  2. Fold the tabs on the frames and glue the glass to the frame (so that the tabs are not visible)
  3. Glue the side of one frame on the side of the other (perpendicular to each other).
  4. Repeat the process with the other two frames until a square frame is reached.
  5. Place the lantern on a white foam plate and trace with a pencil.
  6. Using a knife or an X-ACTO box cutter, cut out the shape and erase the pencil marks.
  7. Glue the base of the foam board to the bottom of the lantern.
  8. Add red sand to the bottom of the lantern.
  9. Bed with flowers, foam stars, garlands and any other embellishment you want. I cut a double-sided cardboard flag to the size of the glass frame and added it to the back of the lantern, but you don’t have to.

Point: You can also take this project to the next level by adding a top to the lantern and putting a floral spray with a decorative net, a bow, patriotic peaks and aluminum star sprays inserted in a small block of foam. I didn’t do it because I wanted to keep it simple and under $ 10.

Mason Patriotic Pot Centerpiece

Provisions:

  • empty jar
  • White sand
  • patriotic door hanger
  • LED star tealight
  • glue gun
  • sharp scissors

Total cost: $ 4

Time: Less than 5 minutes

Difficulty level: Easy

Instructions:

  1. Cut the two longest bells from the ribbon. If you feel that the other bells are too long for you, you can wrap them around the back of the strip until they are at the desired height.
  2. Cut the back of the hanger using sharp scissors.
  3. Glue the cords on each side of the strip together so that it does not fray.
  4. Then glue the door hook under the neck of the pot.
  5. Add half a bag of sand.
  6. Place the LED candle on the sand
