All of the supplies for these craft projects came from Dollar tree with the exception of spray paint. This is the spray paint I used. You can also get it from Walmart for about the same price. I was able to do all of these projects with about 1/2 can of spray paint, so you will have some left over for other projects!

Black and Gold Dollar Store Halloween Decorations

Halloween centerpiece for skeleton hands candle holder

Provisions:

Materials:

  • plastic skeleton hands
  • conical glass candle holder
  • black sand or other filler
  • votive candle or small column
  • gold spray paint
  • round glass candle holder

Cost: $ 5

Time: 10 minutes

Difficulty level: Easy

Instructions:

  1. Paint the skeleton hands and the conical candle holder in gold and let them dry.
  2. Glue the skeleton’s hands together in a circle, making sure it is dry and firmly glued together before the next step.
  3. Add glue to the edge of the conical candle holder and place the skeleton hands on top of the glue.
  4. Put glue on the top of the skeleton’s hands in the inner circle and place the round glass candle holder on top, pressing down to make sure it is properly attached.
  5. Add black sand or whatever filling material you choose to the inside of the round candle holder.
  6. Place your candle on the filling.

Golden skull candle holder

Provisions:

Materials:

  • plastic skull
  • gold spray paint
  • black candle

Cost: $ 3

Time: Less than 5 minutes

Difficulty level: Super easy

Instructions:

  1. Spray gold paint on your skull and let it dry.
  2. Cut out an X shape in the center of the skull large enough for the candle.
  3. Push the candle through the hole in the middle.

DIY golden bone candle holder

Provisions:

Materials:

  • plastic bones
  • large vase or candle holder
  • gold spray paint
  • LED candle
  • frosted glass spray paint (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Spray paint on the gold bones.
  2. Spray paint on the vase / candle holder with frosted glass (optional).
  3. Glue the bones evenly around the vase.

  • chalkboard paint

Instructions:

  1. Line the edges of the border of the bat with painter’s tape on a piece of paper large enough to fit inside the tray.
  2. Spray paint on the edge of the bat and let it dry completely.
  3. Slowly and carefully peel the painter’s tape and paper from the tray.
  4. Line the bat border with painter’s tape and paint the inside with chalk paint. Let it dry.
  5. Peel off the painter’s tape again. Be very careful because chalk paint tends to peel off plastic easily.
  6. You may need to iron the edges with a small brush and chalk paint if there are spots along the edge that are not even or filled in correctly.
